Mumbai: Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGTMSE) hosted a global symposium on credit guarantees alongside the 38th annual conference of Asian Credit Supplementation Institution Confederation, reinforcing its role in expanding collateral-free credit access for micro and small enterprises.

The event, organised as part of CGTMSE’s silver jubilee celebrations on Thursday, brought together delegates from over 19 countries and 26 organisations, including policymakers, financial institutions, and international experts, highlighting the growing importance of global collaboration in strengthening credit guarantee ecosystems.

The symposium was inaugurated by Manoj Mittal, who emphasised the institution’s evolving role in enabling credit access without collateral. Manish Sinha delivered the welcome address, positioning the event as a global platform for dialogue and knowledge exchange.

Delivering the keynote address, Rajneesh, additional secretary and development commissioner in the ministry of MSME, highlighted the government’s continued push to strengthen the MSME ecosystem through policy reforms, financial inclusion, and digital transformation.

He underscored the importance of credit guarantee mechanisms in addressing the persistent challenge of access to finance for enterprises lacking collateral, noting that CGTMSE has emerged as a cornerstone institution in enabling large-scale credit flow to underserved segments, including women entrepreneurs and first-generation businesses.
