Hyderabad: Congress MLC and Government Whip Addanki Dayakar has assured all possible support from the Telangana government for humanitarian programmes undertaken by the YMCA for homeless and destitute people in Hyderabad.
Dayakar was speaking at the 182nd birth anniversary celebrations of YMCA founder George Williams held at the Secunderabad YMCA on Saturday.
Commending the YMCA’s longstanding commitment to community service, Dayakar said the organisation has been carrying forward the vision of its founder through meaningful initiatives aimed at helping the underprivileged and vulnerable sections of society.
He particularly appreciated the YMCA’s programme of providing food to homeless and destitute people every Thursday, describing it as a noble humanitarian effort that addresses the needs of those living on the margins of society.
“The YMCA is rendering valuable service to society through its initiatives for the homeless and destitute. Such efforts deserve encouragement and support,” Dayakar said.
The MLC also offered assistance from his MLC constituency development funds for welfare programmes being planned by the YMCA. He expressed support for the organisation’s proposal to expand the food distribution initiative from a weekly programme to a more regular, week-long service for needy people in the city.
