Hyderabad: TMUS Global Solutions, the technology arm of T-Mobile USA, on Thursday inaugurated its Global Technology Centre in Hyderabad, marking the US telecom giant’s formal entry into India and strengthening Telangana’s position as a preferred destination for global capability centres (GCCs).

The new facility, spread across 2.5 lakh square feet, was inaugurated by IT and industries minister D. Sridhar Babu. The centre represents a significant expansion of T-Mobile’s technology and innovation footprint outside the United States.

During the inauguration, Sridhar Babu and Telangana IT advisor Sai Krishna toured the facility and held discussions with TMUS Global Solutions India leadership, including Chandra Gupta, vice president, IT operations, on the company’s long-term growth plans and Hyderabad’s role in global telecom innovation.

The Hyderabad centre will serve as a strategic innovation hub within T-Mobile’s global network, focusing on software engineering, DevOps, product development, data analytics, cybersecurity and next-generation digital solutions. The company plans to expand the centre to nearly 1,000 employees by 2027.

T-Mobile is among the largest wireless network operators in the United States, serving more than 140 million customers.

Speaking on the occasion, Sridhar Babu said Hyderabad’s ability to provide world-class technology talent at scale has made it a preferred destination for global enterprises.

“I want to thank the T-Mobile leadership team for placing their trust in Telangana and choosing Hyderabad for their Global Technology Centre. Today, seeing them onboard hundreds of skilled professionals and establish one of their fastest-growing centres in such a short span is a strong validation of Hyderabad’s capabilities,” he said.

The minister noted that Telangana has built one of India’s most diverse GCC ecosystems over the past two years, with talent supporting sectors ranging from telecom and artificial intelligence to life sciences, semiconductors, banking, retail and consumer industries.

The centre has been designed as a globally integrated technology and innovation facility and will drive capabilities in cloud technologies, artificial intelligence, automation, cybersecurity and enterprise digital transformation. It will support the development of scalable technology solutions for business operations and customer experience platforms.

Chandra Gupta said Hyderabad offers a strong combination of technology talent, innovation capabilities and a mature ecosystem aligned with the company’s long-term objectives.

“Our Global Technology Centre in Hyderabad will play an important role in strengthening our engineering and digital capabilities while enabling teams to build solutions that support our customers and business priorities,” he said.

The addition of TMUS Global Solutions further expands Hyderabad’s GCC landscape, which currently hosts more than 450 global capability centres employing over three lakh professionals across sectors.

Industry observers view the investment as another endorsement of Hyderabad’s emergence as one of the world’s fastest-growing destinations for high-value technology, engineering and innovation operations.
