SQuAD Forging India Rolls Out 25,000th Aircraft Wheel, Marks Major Milestone in Aerospace Manufacturing
SQuAD produces precision-forged components such as wheels, landing gear, turbines, braking systems, and structural parts, supported by dedicated forging lines including a 1,200-ton screw press and a 10,000-ton hydraulic press.
Belagavi, September 24: SQuAD Forging India Pvt Ltd (SQuAD), a joint venture of Aequs Limited and Aubert & Duval SAS, has announced the rollout of its 25,000th aircraft wheel at its Belagavi plant, underscoring its growing role as a global aerospace supply chain player.
Since starting aircraft wheel manufacturing in 2018, the company achieved its first 10,000 wheels in August 2023. In just two years since then, it has more than doubled that figure, reflecting accelerated production capabilities and customer-driven execution.
Commenting on the achievement, Aravind Melligeri, Executive Chairman & CEO of Aequs Limited, said the milestone demonstrates customer focus and highlights the company’s ability to leverage Belagavi’s aerospace cluster for 100% in-country value addition. “What is more satisfying is that Aequs has been able to leverage the end-to-end ecosystem at the aerospace cluster to achieve 100% in-country value addition on several products, including the wheels it makes, reflecting the unique value proposition of the Aerospace ecosystem at Belagavi,” he noted.
Etienne Galan, CEO of Aubert & Duval SAS, added that the milestone showcases both the metallurgical expertise of Aubert & Duval and the strength of the partnership with Aequs. “By passing the 25,000-wheel milestone, SQuAD has reached an important position that demonstrates Aubert & Duval’s unique metallurgical expertise and the relevance of the partnership in serving our customers,” he said.
SQuAD produces precision-forged components such as wheels, landing gear, turbines, braking systems, and structural parts, supported by dedicated forging lines including a 1,200-ton screw press and a 10,000-ton hydraulic press. Its end-to-end manufacturing ecosystem ensures that every component is forged, machined, treated, and assembled within a 500-meter radius, minimizing environmental impact and ensuring a reduced carbon footprint.
The company emphasized that all its aerospace components are made entirely in India, with complete value addition occurring in-country. The wheels manufactured by SQuAD are now in use on aircraft worldwide, underscoring India’s growing position in the global aerospace supply chain.
