Time-travel family drama blends humour and generational emotions; teaser out, trailer expected soon

New Delhi: The National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) has announced the nationwide release of its Malayalam feature film Achappa’s Album on April 24, positioning it as a family entertainer that combines fantasy, humour, and emotional depth.
Directed by Deepti Pillay Sivan and written by Sanjeev Sivan, Anirban Bhattacharya, and Umesh Nair, the film centres on a time-travel narrative that explores generational relationships. The story follows a father and son who, through an unexpected twist, begin living each other’s lives—offering a reflective and often humorous take on life choices and perspectives across age groups.
The film features a diverse cast led by Mohan Agashe, alongside Anjana Appukuttan, Aadinath Kothare, Priyanka Nair, and Sidhanshu Sanjeev Sivan. The technical team includes cinematographer Manoj Pillai, editor Sreekar Prasad, and music composer Gulraj Singh.
Speaking about the film, Sivan said the narrative delves into “deep human relationships through a simple yet engaging time-travel concept,” while acknowledging NFDC’s role in bringing the project to the screen.
Prakash Magdum, Managing Director of NFDC, said the film reflects the organisation’s continued focus on supporting distinctive storytelling in Indian cinema. He noted that the blend of imagination and emotional resonance gives the film the potential to connect with audiences across generations.
