C-DOT Strengthens Innovation Footprint with 78 IP Awardees, Expanding Patent Portfolio
The Centre for Development of Telematics reinforced its position as a leading telecom R&D institution with a strong push on intellectual property creation, honouring 78 innovators at its Annual IP Awards Ceremony 2026 held at its Bengaluru campus on Thursday.

Bengaluru: The Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) reinforced its position as a leading telecom R&D institution with a strong push on intellectual property creation, honouring 78 innovators at its Annual IP Awards Ceremony 2026 held at its Bengaluru campus.
The event recognised contributions spanning patents, copyrights, trademarks, and research, underlining the organisation’s sustained focus on building indigenous telecom technologies aligned with national priorities such as Digital India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
A total of 78 employees were honoured for their collective achievements, which included 36 patents, 18 copyrights, 5 design registrations, 9 trademarks, and 3 research papers. The awardees received certificates, medals, and cash prizes, reflecting the organisation’s commitment to incentivising innovation and excellence.
The ceremony brought together researchers, engineers, and domain experts whose work continues to strengthen C-DOT’s intellectual property portfolio. With a steady rise in patent filings and a growing base of innovators, C-DOT is consolidating its role as a key contributor to India’s telecom and digital technology ecosystem.
Speaking on the occasion, CEO, C-DOT, Rajkumar Upadhyay highlighted the strategic importance of intellectual property in nation-building. He said a strong and expanding IP portfolio is essential for creating a resilient and future-ready telecom ecosystem, adding that the innovations recognised reflect both technical excellence and a commitment to advancing India’s self-reliance in critical technologies.
