New Delhi, August 28: Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth on Thursday inaugurated MILMEDICON-2025: International Conference on Physical and Mental Trauma in Military Settings at the Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi. The event, organised by the Directorate General of Medical Services (Army), brings together experts from India and abroad to deliberate on innovations, challenges, and reforms in military medicine.
In his inaugural address, Seth underlined India’s commitment to advancing military medicine through global collaboration, cutting-edge research, and respect for the legacy of service. “It is a fitting tribute to our warriors and a crucial step towards future-ready healthcare solutions,” he said.
The two-day conference aligns with the Indian Army’s Year of Reforms and is designed not only as a scientific exchange but as a strategic initiative to bolster international cooperation and enhance trauma care capabilities in military operations.
This year’s edition also commemorates the centenary of the Military Nursing Service, paying tribute to 100 years of service and the spirit of Nari Shakti in combat medical care. Sessions will focus on advanced combat trauma care, the integration of artificial intelligence in military healthcare, innovative battlefield response systems, and the role of women in combat and leadership.
Representatives from over 15 foreign countries are participating in panel discussions, poster presentations, and exhibitions, making the conference a global platform for dialogue and innovation. Senior officers of the Indian Armed Forces, international delegations, civilian healthcare experts, and academics are also part of the deliberations.
