28th National Conference on e-Governance Begins in Visakhapatnam
A highlight of the event will be the presentation of the National Awards for e-Governance 2025, recognising 19 exemplary initiatives across the country.
Visakhapatnam, September 22: The 28th National Conference on e-Governance (NCeG) opened in Visakhapatnam on Monday, bringing together policymakers, technologists, and industry leaders to deliberate on “Viksit Bharat: Civil Service and Digital Transformation.” The two-day event is being organised by the Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DARPG) and the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), in collaboration with the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu along with Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh inaugurated the conference, which was also attended by Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and State IT Minister N. Lokesh.
Awards for Excellence in Governance
A highlight of the event will be the presentation of the National Awards for e-Governance 2025, recognising 19 exemplary initiatives across the country. The awards—10 gold, 6 silver, and 3 jury honours—will be conferred across six categories, covering efforts by central and state governments, districts, gram panchayats, and academic institutions.
Wide-Ranging Deliberations
The conference will feature six plenary sessions and six breakout sessions, with around 70 speakers sharing insights on themes such as:
- Vizag as an IT hub
- AI for Viksit Bharat
- Cybersecurity and digital sovereignty
- Civil service and digital transformation
- AgriStack as a digital solution for agriculture
- Grassroots innovations in e-governance
- Role of subsea cables and AI data centres in digital governance
Sessions will also showcase best practices from gold award winners and highlight the Government of Andhra Pradesh’s initiatives in e-governance.
National Participation
Delegates from all 28 states and eight Union Territories are participating. An exhibition is being held alongside the sessions, featuring India’s achievements in digital governance and a “Wall of Fame” spotlighting past award winners.
The event will also include addresses by DARPG Secretary V. Srinivas, MeitY Secretary S. Krishnan, and Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand. The conference will conclude with the adoption of the Visakhapatnam Declaration on e-Governance 2025, to be presented by Sarita Chauhan, Joint Secretary, DARPG.
Organisers said the conference would serve as a platform to integrate cutting-edge technologies into governance, ensuring secure, scalable, and citizen-centric digital service delivery aligned with the vision of a Viksit Bharat.
