Ayurveda Day 2026 gathers momentum with 9700 activities and 89 lakh citizen pledges
More than 3.6 lakh people have registered for Ayurveda Day activities across India, while programmes in 10 countries and territories signal growing international participation.
This year’s Ayurveda Day is being observed under the theme “Ayurveda for a Healthier Tomorrow”.
NEW DELHI: Nationwide public participation is gathering momentum ahead of the 11th Ayurveda Day on September 23, with more than 9,700 activities reported across 30 states and union territories and over 3.6 lakh participants registered through the official Ayurveda Day website.
Nearly 89.3 lakh citizens have also pledged their support for Ayurveda through the Ayurveda Day 2026 microsite, which serves as the digital platform for citizen participation, registration and reporting of activities.
This year’s Ayurveda Day is being observed under the theme “Ayurveda for a Healthier Tomorrow”.
Awareness and wellness activities
States including Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh have recorded substantial participation as communities, educational institutions and organisations join the nationwide observance.
The activities include Ayurveda awareness programmes, Information, Education and Communication (IEC) initiatives, public outreach programmes and Ayurveda health and wellness camps.
Medicinal plant plantation and conservation drives are also being organised, along with Ayurveda awareness programmes in schools and colleges, youth engagement initiatives and campaigns promoting Ayurveda Ahara and healthy dietary practices.
Citizen pledge campaigns and Ayurveda quizzes are among the other activities being reported as part of the celebrations.
The initiatives are bringing together citizens, educational institutions, communities and organisations through awareness, wellness and engagement programmes, providing multiple avenues for public participation in Ayurveda Day activities.
Participation extends beyond India
The 11th Ayurveda Day has also attracted participation from outside India, with activities reported from 10 countries and territories involving more than 1,900 participants.
The participating countries and territories include the British Indian Ocean Territory, the United Kingdom, Afghanistan, Bulgaria, Spain, Algeria, Australia, Denmark, Iceland and the United States.
The international participation reflects the outreach of Ayurveda Day and the involvement of communities, institutions and organisations beyond India in activities focused on Ayurveda awareness, wellness and public engagement.
