Mumbai/San Francisco: Tata Consultancy Services and Anthropic have announced a global strategic partnership aimed at accelerating enterprise-scale adoption of artificial intelligence, with TCS becoming a Global Premier Partner in Anthropic’s Claude Partner Network.

Under the partnership, TCS will establish a dedicated business unit focused on delivering AI-driven customer solutions, industry-specific innovations and deep expertise around Anthropic’s Claude family of AI models. The collaboration is designed to help enterprises move beyond AI experimentation and deploy AI systems confidently in production environments, particularly in highly regulated industries where governance, accuracy and compliance are critical.

A key component of the partnership is TCS’ plan to equip 50,000 associates across engineering, finance, legal, marketing and sales functions with access to Claude through enterprise-wide licensing. By deploying the technology internally, TCS aims to transform its own operations while gaining practical insights that can be applied to client engagements.

The companies will jointly develop and market AI solutions for sectors including financial services, public services, life sciences, healthcare, aviation, telecom and medtech. The collaboration will focus on domain-specific workflows, enterprise modernization and customer experience transformation, leveraging TCS’ consulting, engineering and managed services capabilities.

K. Krithivasan, CEO and Managing Director of TCS, said enterprise AI value comes from understanding business context, orchestrating complex systems and applying deep AI engineering expertise.

“By combining Claude with our industry expertise, engineering rigor, and large-scale transformation capabilities, we will help customers move faster to production, especially in industries where trust, resilience, and regulatory discipline are critical,” he said.

Dario Amodei, Co-founder and CEO of Anthropic, said the partnership strengthens the company’s commitment to India, which has emerged as its second-largest market.

“We built Claude to be safe, trusted, and helpful, particularly in contexts where accuracy matters most. TCS will bring Claude to enterprises and professionals across the region and globally, including 50,000 of its employees,” Amodei said.

N Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons, described the partnership as a reflection of the shared belief that AI will become foundational to enterprise transformation worldwide.

“By combining Anthropic’s capabilities with Tata Group’s scale, trusted relationships, and nation-building commitment, we will accelerate enterprise reinvention and equip India’s youth with the skills to lead in the AI era,” he said.

The partnership extends to several TCS businesses and platforms. In the UK, Diligenta, TCS’ FCA-regulated life and pensions business serving more than 22 million customers, will deploy Claude to improve customer experience through agentic process transformation. TCS’ banking and financial services products teams will also use Claude Code to enhance software engineering and IT operations productivity.

TCS iON, which conducts over 75 million assessments annually across 1,500 Indian cities, will offer learning and certification programmes on Claude models to help build an AI-skilled workforce in India. The company also plans to contribute reusable skills and plugins to the Claude Code ecosystem, including capabilities for claims adjudication and lending advisory services.

The announcement comes as enterprises worldwide seek practical pathways to scale AI adoption while maintaining governance, security and regulatory compliance. TCS said the partnership will combine large-scale deployment experience, workforce enablement and joint innovation to help clients achieve measurable business outcomes through AI.
