DEHRADUN: Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) has opened a 30,000 sq ft incubation facility at IT Park on Sahastradhara Road to support technology startups and IT and IT-enabled services enterprises in Uttarakhand.

Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Jitin Prasada inaugurated the facility, the ministry said in a statement on Friday. Uttarakhand ministers Pradeep Batra and Ganesh Joshi attended the event.

Spread across four floors, the centre provides semi-furnished offices, high-speed internet, an auditorium, meeting and conference rooms, and a network operations centre. It supplements STPI Dehradun’s existing incubation infrastructure of approximately 19,533 sq ft.

STPI Director General Arvind Kumar said enterprises would also benefit from mentorship, industry connections and access to investors and expertise through the organisation’s national network.

Prasada said Uttarakhand had more than 1,700 recognised startups. He linked the facility to wider efforts to attract investment and create employment, including electronics manufacturing initiatives in Kashipur.

Under STPI Dehradun’s Next Generation Incubation Scheme, 52 startups have been selected through challenge programmes. Of these, 17 have received a combined ₹4.25 crore in seed funding, while more than 26 have received stipends of ₹90,000 each.

Established in 2001, STPI Dehradun supports the state’s technology industry through incubation services and export-related schemes.
