Hyderabad: Women Empowerment Telugu Association (WETA) India will formally launch its national women empowerment movement and host the Women Empowerment Summit 2026 on June 24 at the Jubilee Hills Convention Centre in Hyderabad, Founder and Advisory Chairperson Hanumandla Jhansi Reddy announced on Wednesday.

The announcement was made during the unveiling of the summit poster in Hyderabad.

Speaking on the occasion, Jhansi Reddy said WETA India aims to emerge as a nationwide platform dedicated to promoting women’s empowerment, leadership development, education, employment, healthcare and social participation.

She said true empowerment goes beyond economic independence and includes decision-making authority, self-confidence, leadership opportunities and equal participation in society.

“WETA India is committed to creating a platform that encourages women, young girls, students and emerging leaders to realize their full potential and contribute meaningfully to society,” she said.

The summit will bring together policymakers, legal experts, educators, healthcare professionals, social activists and leadership mentors to discuss critical issues related to women’s empowerment, legal awareness, employment, entrepreneurship, leadership, health, sustainable development and career building.

Eminent Speakers

The summit will feature addresses by several distinguished speakers, including:

  • Justice T. Rajani, former Judge of the High Court
  • Neeraja, retired Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer
  • Dr. K. Padmavathi, Principal, Government Degree College for Women, Begumpet
  • Dr. Pavani Itikyala, economist and researcher
  • Rajitha Mainampally, life transformation coach
  • Prema Pavani, women’s rights activist
  • Shailaja Sanghi, career development and placement expert
  • Dr. Kavya Dendukuri, hepatologist and liver transplant specialist
  • Haima Reddy Vulpala, global Telugu community leader

Chief Guests and Dignitaries

Telangana Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Danasari Anasuya (Seethakka) is expected to attend the summit as the Chief Guest, while Telangana Forest and Environment Minister Konda Surekha will participate as Special Guest.

As part of the summit, WETA India will honour accomplished women leaders for their outstanding contributions across various fields.

  • K. Ratna Prabha, IAS (Retd.) – Women in Governance & Entrepreneurship Leadership Award
  • B. Sumathi, IPS – Women in Law Enforcement & Public Leadership Award
  • Neeraja, IFoS – Women in Agriculture, Sustainability & Nation Building Award
  • Padma Shri Dr. Shobha Raju – Lifetime Contribution to Culture & Values Award
  • Dr. Kavya Dendukuri – Young Women Medical Leadership Award

The event will also feature the announcement of winners of the Women Empowerment Telugu Short Film Challenge 2026, followed by a cash award presentation ceremony.

Jhansi Reddy said WETA India seeks to become a catalyst for advancing women’s education, employment, leadership, healthcare, digital empowerment, legal awareness and social inclusion.

“With the theme of empowering women and strengthening families and communities, WETA India will work towards creating lasting social impact and inspiring future generations of women leaders,” she added.
