Hyderabad: A new women-led social empowerment initiative, WETA India (Women Empowerment Telugu Association), is set to be formally launched in Hyderabad on June 24 with a vision to strengthen women, families and communities through leadership, education, cultural integration and social service.

The grand launch event will be held at the Jubilee Hills Convention Centre and is expected to bring together women leaders, entrepreneurs, professionals, educators, social activists and community representatives from across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has been invited as the chief guest for the inaugural programme.

Founded by Hanumandla Jhansi Reddy, WETA India seeks to create a platform dedicated to women’s empowerment while remaining rooted in Telugu culture, values, leadership and social responsibility. The organisation aims to connect women leaders, professionals and grassroots changemakers through mentorship, networking and community engagement initiatives.

According to the organisers, the movement will focus on promoting grassroots women leadership, youth mentorship, rural entrepreneurship, social welfare activities, cultural preservation and family strengthening programmes.

The organisation envisions empowering women not only as beneficiaries of development but also as key contributors to social transformation and community building.

Speaking about the initiative, founder Hanumandla Jhansi Reddy, who currently serves as a vice president of Telangana Pradesh Congree Committee, said WETA India is designed as a movement that brings together empowerment, cultural values and social responsibility.

“WETA India is dedicated to empowering women, strengthening families, preserving culture and building a brighter future for coming generations. Meaningful empowerment begins when women are provided with opportunities, recognition, mentorship and leadership platforms,” she said.

As part of its roadmap, the organisation plans to launch leadership development programmes, networking forums, community service initiatives, entrepreneurship support activities and cultural events aimed at nurturing a new generation of women leaders across the Telugu-speaking states and beyond.

With the theme ‘Empowering Women, Enriching Families, Inspiring Generations’, the launch marks the beginning of a broader social movement focused on inclusive growth, community development and long-term social impact.

Organisers said the initiative will work towards creating stronger connections between women from diverse professional and social backgrounds while encouraging greater participation in leadership, education, entrepreneurship and community service.
