Hyderabad: The Government of Telangana has appointed outgoing Director General of Police B. Shivadhar Reddy as State Security Advisor (SSA) and senior leader ex-MP V. Hanumantha Rao as Advisor for BC Welfare & Development, strengthening its advisory framework in key governance areas.

According to separate government orders issued on April 29, Shivadhar Reddy will serve as State Security Advisor for a period of three years from the date of assuming charge. His advisory role will cover police administration, law and order, internal security, crime control, narcotics control, and road safety.

A 1994 batch IPS officer, Shivadhar Reddy, demits office as Telangana DGP today, April 30, 2026, on attaining superannuation. CV Anand has been appointed as the new DGP.

He will hold the rank and status of Chief Secretary and receive a fixed monthly remuneration of ₹2.25 lakh. The order also provides for official accommodation, transport, staff support, and other benefits in line with his previous service conditions. As outlined in the GO, the staffing structure includes an officer on special duty, private secretary, personal assistant, drivers, and office staff.

In a parallel move, the government has appointed V. Hanumantha Rao as Advisor to the government on BC Welfare & Development, granting him the rank and status of minister of state. He will be placed at Article 18 in the warrant of precedence for the duration of his tenure.

As detailed in the GO, Hanumantha Rao will receive a lump-sum salary of ₹1 lakh per month along with allowances, including ₹50,000 as house rent allowance, conveyance support, medical reimbursement, and official staff.
