JNEXT technology centre to drive AI-powered, connected vehicle platforms for India’s new-energy mobility ecosystem

Pune: JSW Motors has entered into a strategic partnership with Tata Elxsi to establish the JNEXT – JSW NextGen Technology Center in Pune, aimed at accelerating the development of connected and software-defined mobility solutions in India.
The collaboration, formalised through a memorandum of understanding, will position the JNEXT centre as a key engineering hub supporting JSW Motors’ upcoming new-energy vehicle (NEV) programmes, including electric, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid vehicles.
Under the partnership, Tata Elxsi will lead the end-to-end implementation of a connected vehicle platform and a unified customer experience application for JSW Motors. This will span the full lifecycle—from conceptualisation and integration to production and aftersales support—leveraging a broader ecosystem of technology partners.
The initiative aligns with JSW Motors’ vision of building a technology-led, indigenised mobility ecosystem in India. The collaboration will integrate advanced digital capabilities such as cloud platforms, over-the-air (OTA) updates, digital twins, AI/ML analytics, cybersecurity frameworks, and 5G-enabled services. Immersive technologies including AR, VR, and XR will also be deployed to enhance the customer ownership experience.
Ranjan Nayak, CEO of JSW Motors, said the partnership marks a significant step toward developing globally competitive, software-defined vehicles rooted in India. He noted that Tata Elxsi’s expertise across electrification, ADAS, and digital engineering will help accelerate development timelines while improving safety and innovation standards.
Manoj Raghavan, MD and CEO of Tata Elxsi, said the future of mobility will be increasingly driven by software, data, and intelligent systems. He added that the JNEXT centre will play a critical role in translating these capabilities into scalable, real-world mobility solutions.
Beyond vehicle platforms, the collaboration will also focus on intelligent diagnostics, predictive maintenance, performance optimisation, and compliance with global safety and cybersecurity standards. Tata Elxsi will deploy its proprietary platforms, including TETHER Auto, to enable scalable, cloud-native automotive solutions.
The partnership underscores a broader push toward building a future-ready automotive ecosystem in India, driven by digital innovation, engineering excellence, and sustainable mobility.
