Hyderabad: The Government of Telangana has effected a sweeping administrative reshuffle, transferring and posting over 30 IAS officers across key departments, districts, and urban governance bodies in a major bureaucratic realignment aimed at strengthening governance and service delivery.

The reshuffle, issued through multiple government orders (G.O. Rt. Nos. 540, 541 and 542), spans senior-level secretariat positions, district collectors, GHMC zonal commissioners, and key departmental heads.

Top-Level Secretariat Changes

Among the senior-most changes, Sanjay Kumar has been posted as Special Officer, Telangana Bhavan in New Delhi, while M. Dana Kishore takes over as Special Chief Secretary, PR & RD, RWS & RSAD Department.

Harichandana Dasari has been moved from Hyderabad Collector to Secretary, Labour, Employment, Training & Factories Department, while also holding additional charge in the revenue department. Krishna Aditya has been posted as Special Secretary in industries & commerce, signalling a focus on industrial growth.

Major District Collector Transfers

The reshuffle sees significant changes at the district level:

  • Priyanka Ala appointed Collector, Hyderabad
  • Bhavesh Mishra posted as Collector, Nirmal
  • Prateek Jain moved to Sangareddy
  • Divakara TS posted to Khammam
  • Hemant Sahadeorao Bhorkhade shifted as Collector, Mulugu
  • Chekka Priyanka appointed Collector, Narayanpet
  • Hemanta Keshav Patil posted as Collector, Nagarkurnool

These changes indicate a broad reconfiguration of district administration across the state.

GHMC and Urban Governance Revamp

A major highlight of the reshuffle is the overhaul of zonal leadership within the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC):

  • P. Uday Kumar posted as Zonal Commissioner, Golconda
  • Badhavath Santhosh to Khairatabad
  • Narayan Amit Malempati to Serilingampally
  • Vikas Mahato to LB Nagar
  • Mayank Singh to Kukatpally
  • S. Srinivas Reddy to Rajendranagar

This indicates a focused push on urban administration and governance efficiency in Hyderabad.

Key Departmental and Institutional Appointments

  • Zendage Hanumant Kondiba appointed CEO, Arogyasri Health Care Trust
  • Anudeep Durishetty moved to ITE&C Department as Joint Secretary
  • Abhilasha Abhinav posted as Director, Intermediate Education & BIE Secretary
  • G.V. Shyam Prasad Lal appointed Director, Civil Supplies

Additionally, several officers have been given full additional charge (FAC) responsibilities, reflecting interim administrative arrangements in critical departments.

ITDA, Additional Collector and Field-Level Changes

The reshuffle also includes postings in tribal and rural administration:

  • Manda Makarandu posted as Project Officer, ITDA Utnoor
  • Lenin Vatsal Toppo posted to ITDA Eturunagaram
  • Kiranmayi Koppisetti and Yuvraj Marmat appointed as Additional Collectors in Rangareddy and Kumrambheem Asifabad respectively

Administrative Significance

The scale and spread of the reshuffle suggest a strategic recalibration across governance layers:

  • Strengthening urban governance, especially in GHMC
  • Realigning district leadership for improved service delivery
  • Reinforcing key sectors such as health, civil supplies, and industries
  • Enhancing coordination between state and central administrative interfaces

Issued in the name of the Governor, the reshuffle is seen as part of the state government’s broader effort to improve administrative efficiency, accelerate development initiatives, and ensure tighter governance oversight.

With multiple departments and districts witnessing leadership changes simultaneously, the coming months will be critical in assessing the impact of this large-scale bureaucratic restructuring on Telangana’s governance outcomes.
