NCDRC and 10 States Achieve Over 100% Disposal Rate of Consumer Cases in July; e-Jagriti Crosses 2 Lakh Users

New Delhi, August 18: In a major milestone for consumer grievance redressal, the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) along with 10 States recorded a case disposal rate of over 100% in July 2025, meaning more cases were resolved than filed during the month.
According to the Department of Consumer Affairs, NCDRC achieved a disposal rate of 122%, while Tamil Nadu led the states with 277%, followed by Rajasthan (214%), Telangana (158%), Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand (150% each), Meghalaya (140%), Kerala (122%), Puducherry (111%), Chhattisgarh (108%) and Uttar Pradesh (101%).
Officials said overall consumer case disposal in July 2025 was substantially higher compared to the same month last year, reflecting progress in timely resolution of disputes.
Meanwhile, the department announced that over 2 lakh users, including NRIs, have registered on the e-Jagriti platform since its launch on January 1, 2025, with 85,531 cases filed this year alone.
e-Jagriti: Unified Consumer Justice Platform
e-Jagriti integrates earlier systems such as OCMS, e-Daakhil, NCDRC CMS, and CONFONET into a single interface, allowing consumers to file complaints from anywhere in India or abroad, pay fees online, and track case progress in real time. Features include virtual hearings, document exchange, multilingual support, chatbot assistance, and voice-to-text tools to support senior citizens and visually challenged users.
For advocates, the portal provides case tracking, hearing alerts, and Bar Council-verified credentials, while judges can access smart digital case files, analytics dashboards, and secure virtual courtrooms. The platform also integrates Bharat Kosh and PayGov payment gateways, ensuring secure transactions and reducing paperwork.

The Department of Consumer Affairs said e-Jagriti is now operational across all 36 States and Union Territories, aiming to create a transparent, inclusive, and sustainable consumer justice ecosystem while urging citizens to leverage the platform to assert their rights.
