Hyderabad Black Hawks to hold U-21 and PVL selection trials in Vijayawada on August 6

The U-21 selection process is being held ahead of the inaugural Guardians Trophy, an invitational U-21 volleyball tournament scheduled to take place in Goa from August 14 to 16.
VIJAYAWADA: Hyderabad Black Hawks will conduct U-21 Selection Trials and Open Trials for its Prime Volleyball League (PVL) main team on August 6 at the VR Siddhartha Engineering College Indoor Stadium in Vijayawada, aiming to identify promising volleyball talent from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
The U-21 trials will begin at 8 a.m., followed by a press conference at 12 noon. Open Trials for the senior PVL team will commence at 5 p.m.
The U-21 selection process is being held ahead of the inaugural Guardians Trophy, an invitational U-21 volleyball tournament scheduled to take place in Goa from August 14 to 16. Hyderabad Black Hawks said registrations for the U-21 category have already closed after receiving an overwhelming response.
Players selected through the U-21 trials will attend a training camp until August 12 before representing Hyderabad Black Hawks in the Guardians Trophy. They will also become eligible for the Prime Volleyball League Auction, creating a pathway to professional volleyball.
The Open Trials are exclusively for experienced male volleyball players from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh aspiring to join the Hyderabad Black Hawks squad for PVL Season 5. The franchise said players must complete their PVL Auction registration before participating in the selection trials.
Abhishek Reddy Kankanala, Principal Owner of Hyderabad Black Hawks, said the trials offer an important platform for both emerging and experienced players to showcase their abilities and advance their volleyball careers.
Parameswarareddy Ravuri, Head of Grassroots, said the franchise remains committed to building a team that reflects the rich sporting talent of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Conducting both U-21 and senior trials in Vijayawada, he said, will enable the franchise to identify the best talent from across the two states.
The Hyderabad Black Hawks said the initiative is part of its long-term strategy to strengthen grassroots volleyball while creating a structured pathway for talented players to progress to the professional level through the Prime Volleyball League.
