President Presents Award to Secretary Anil Malik at National Conclave in New Delhi
New Delhi, October 20: The Ministry of Women and Child Development (WCD) has been conferred an award for its outstanding contribution to the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM JANMAN) — the Government of India’s flagship initiative aimed at empowering Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) and ensuring inclusive development.
The award was received by Anil Malik, Secretary, Ministry of Women & Child Development, from the President of India during the National Conclave on ‘Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan’, held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The event was organized by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs to recognize excellence in tribal welfare and grassroots implementation of government programmes.
Under the PM JANMAN scheme, the WCD Ministry has made over 2,000 Anganwadi Centres functional in PVTG areas, strengthening early childhood care, nutrition, and community outreach. The initiative marks a significant step towards extending the benefits of women and child welfare programmes to the most remote and underserved tribal regions of the country.
The recognition underscores the Ministry’s commitment to inclusive service delivery, focusing on last-mile empowerment and holistic well-being of tribal women and children under the vision of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas.
