Telangana IPS Reshuffle: Top Cop Shikha Goel Appointed Home Principal Secretary
Shikha Goel will continue to hold full additional charge as Director of Telangana Cyber Security Bureau and Director of Telangana Forensic Science Laboratory until further orders.
Key postings across vigilance, intelligence and policing signal strategic administrative realignment in the state

Hyderabad: The Government of Telangana has issued orders for a major reshuffle of Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, effecting key transfers and postings across departments. The changes, notified by the General Administration (Spl.B) Department, will come into effect from May 1, 2026.
At the top level, Shikha Goel has been transferred and appointed as Principal Secretary, Home Department. She will continue to hold full additional charge as Director of Telangana Cyber Security Bureau and Director of Telangana Forensic Science Laboratory until further orders.
Devendra Singh Chauhan has been posted as Director General (Vigilance & Enforcement) and Ex-Officio Principal Secretary to Government, General Administration Department, replacing Shikha Goel.
In another key move, Shahnawaz Qasim has been transferred from Director General, Drugs Control Administration to Inspector General of Police, Multi Zone-II, with additional charge as IGP (Personnel).
Tarun Joshi has been appointed Commissioner of Police, Future City, succeeding G. Sudheer Babu, who is set to retire on April 30.
Avinash Mohanthy moves as Director General, Drugs Control Administration and Director, Prohibition & Excise, and will also hold additional charge as Director, Anti-Corruption Bureau.
B. Sumathi has been posted as Commissioner of Police, Malkajgiri, while Kartikey will hold additional charge as IGP, SIB (Intelligence).
The reshuffle reflects administrative realignment across vigilance, intelligence, law enforcement, and regulatory functions in the state. The orders were issued in the name of the Governor of Telangana by Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao.
