Azharuddin, Kodandaram Sworn in as MLCs; CM Revanth Reviews Assembly Infrastructure Plans
Telangana Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy administers the oath to newly nominated MLCs Mohammad Azharuddin and M. Kodandaram in the presence of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chairman Banda Prakash Mudiraj, PCC President Mahesh Goud, ministers Sridhar Babu and Vivek, MP Vem Narender Reddy, and other legislators., in Hyderabad, on Monday.
Focus on modernisation, member facilities, and preservation of heritage structures

Hyderabad: Telangana Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy administered the oath of office to newly nominated Members of the Legislative Council, Mohammad Azharuddin and M. Kodandaram, at a formal ceremony attended by senior political leaders.
Among those present were Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chairman Banda Prakash Mudiraj, PCC President Mahesh Goud, ministers Sridhar Babu and Vivek, MP Vem Narender Reddy, along with government whips, MLCs, and MLAs.
The swearing-in follows the approval of their nominations by Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, ending a prolonged period of uncertainty over the appointments.
Later, the Chief Minister chaired a review meeting in the Legislative Council Conference Hall along with Gutha Sukhender Reddy and Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar to assess infrastructure development within the Assembly premises.
Revanth Reddy directed officials to model the Assembly complex on the lines of Parliament, with a focus on enhancing institutional dignity and functionality. He called for improved privacy for members, the establishment of a dedicated club within Public Gardens, and the creation of walking tracks and sports facilities.
The Chief Minister also instructed that the Central Hall be made ready ahead of the upcoming session, while emphasising the need to preserve heritage structures and strengthen security across the Assembly premises.
The review reflects the government’s broader push to modernise legislative infrastructure while maintaining architectural and historical integrity.
