NLMC to e-auction 459 RINL land parcels in Visakhapatnam

VISAKHAPATNAM: The National Land Monetization Corporation (NLMC) will facilitate the e-auction of 459 land parcels owned by Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, the Union government said in a statement on Tuesday.
The portfolio covers 93,572.21 square yards and comprises land parcels in HB Colony, Maddilapalem, and Auto Nagar, Gajuwaka. The properties are being offered for outright sale with clear and encumbrance-free government titles.
NLMC is a 100% Government of India-owned company under the administrative control of the Department of Public Enterprises (DPE), Ministry of Finance. The auction is part of its mandate to monetise surplus land and non-core assets held by central public sector enterprises and government agencies.
Residential and commercial parcels
The largest portion of the portfolio comprises 456 residential MIG/LIG plots in HB Colony, Maddilapalem. The plots are located in an established urban area with civic and social infrastructure and have access to 24- to 60-foot concrete roads.
The HB Colony properties are also located close to National Highway 16, providing connectivity to key parts of Visakhapatnam.
In Auto Nagar, Gajuwaka, the portfolio includes a contiguous 2,728-square-yard parcel in Block 2, located around 0.5 km from NH-16. The parcel is positioned for commercial and logistics-related use.
Two additional residential plots in Block 3 of Auto Nagar are also included in the auction.
Individual plots across the portfolio range from approximately 128.94 square yards to 2,728 square yards.
E-auction on October 12 and 16
The competitive bidding will be conducted through the RailTel E-Nivida e-procurement platform on October 12 and October 16, 2026.
Prospective bidders will have to complete online registration and KYC verification and submit an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of ₹2 lakh per plot within the prescribed timelines.

Quikr India Pvt. Ltd. (QIPL) has been appointed as the transaction consultant to facilitate the auction process.
Monetising public assets
The auction reflects NLMC’s role in unlocking value from surplus land and other non-core assets held by government entities through a structured and digitally enabled process.
The transparent bidding mechanism is expected to provide investors, developers and individual buyers an opportunity to acquire land in established locations of Visakhapatnam.
NLMC was established to undertake the monetisation of surplus land and non-core assets belonging to CPSEs and government entities.
RINL, which operates the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, is a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Steel.
