Shrutlekh supported two-way communication among delegates in Mussoorie and is expected to remain available during the urban service delivery programme, which runs from October 12 to 23.
The programme, running from October 12 to 23, brings together civil servants and public-sector representatives from countries including Peru, Cambodia, Nigeria, Kenya, Palestine, Lebanon, The Gambia, Ecuador and Spain.

MUSSOORIE: BHASHINI has deployed its Shrutlekh platform to support real-time English-Spanish translation at an international capacity-building programme on urban service delivery hosted by the National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG).
According to an official statement issued on Tuesday, the Digital India BHASHINI Division facilitated translation in both directions during the programme’s ice-breaking session, helping delegates communicate across language barriers.
The programme, running from October 12 to 23, brings together civil servants and public-sector representatives from countries including Peru, Cambodia, Nigeria, Kenya, Palestine, Lebanon, The Gambia, Ecuador and Spain.
Sponsored by the Ministry of External Affairs, it is organised by NCGG under the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances through the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation programme.
The BHASHINI team helped participants use Shrutlekh and introduced them to its multilingual AI tools and potential applications in healthcare, finance, agriculture and public-service delivery. Delegates were also encouraged to explore the BHASHINI mobile app for everyday communication and digital interactions.
Shrutlekh is intended to remain available throughout the programme, subject to operational requirements. The deployment forms part of BHASHINI’s voice-first approach to making communication and digital services accessible across languages.
BHASHINI operates under Digital India Corporation and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. According to the statement, its language technologies have been integrated across 2,353 government platforms, including more than 800 government websites.
The platform supports 36 Indian languages in text, 23 Indian languages in voice and 35 international languages. It has processed more than nine billion cumulative AI inferences, with over 24 million daily, the statement said.
