HYDERABAD: BJP State Executive Member Keerthi Reddy on Monday called upon the youth of Telangana to participate in a Tiranga Rally being organised on August 15 to mark the 80th Independence Day celebrations, saying the event would reinforce national unity and foster patriotism among the younger generation.
Addressing a press conference at the Press Club in Somajiguda, organised by the Akhanda Bharati Seva Foundation, Keerthi Reddy unveiled the rally’s wall poster along with representatives of the voluntary organisation and shared details of the event.
The rally will be held under the theme “My Nation, My Pride, My Tiranga” and is intended to celebrate the spirit of national integration while paying tribute to India’s freedom fighters and the armed forces.
Speaking on the occasion, Keerthi Reddy said India’s youth remain the country’s greatest strength and urged them to take pride in their identity as Indians.
She said no force could weaken the country’s unity despite attempts by divisive elements and added that the Tiranga Rally would send a strong message that the people of India stand united against forces seeking to divide society.
“The objective of this rally is to remind people of the struggles and sacrifices behind our national flag and ensure that future generations never forget its significance,” she said.
Keerthi Reddy stressed the need to educate young people about India’s freedom movement, the country’s rich history and the importance of preserving national unity.
She also highlighted the sacrifices made by India’s armed forces, saying citizens are able to live peacefully because of the dedication and vigilance of the country’s soldiers. She called upon people to recognise their contribution and instil a sense of patriotism among future generations.
Expressing happiness over being entrusted with the responsibility of coordinating the women’s wing for the event, she said the rally would also encourage greater participation of women in programmes promoting national integration.
Inviting large-scale public participation, Keerthi Reddy said the event was open to everyone who believes in the ideals of the nation and wished to express respect for the Indian tricolour.
According to the organisers, the Tiranga Rally will commence at 7 a.m. on August 15 from Parade Ground in Secunderabad and proceed through Gajwel, Siddipet, Sircilla and conclude in Karimnagar.
The organisers said BJP Members of Parliament, MLAs, MLCs, other public representatives and senior party leaders are expected to participate in the rally.
