Telangana CM Revanth Reddy offers Pattu Vastralu at Ujjayini Mahakali Temple during Bonalu celebrations

HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Sunday offered Pattu Vastralu (traditional silk robes) to Goddess Ujjayini Mahakali at the historic Ujjayini Mahakali Temple in Secunderabad as part of the annual Bonalu celebrations.
The Chief Minister was welcomed at the temple by Dr Kota Neelima, Vice President of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) and Congress Party In-charge for the Sanathnagar Assembly Constituency. He was also received by the temple’s chief priests, officials and staff and ceremonially escorted into the temple with traditional Purna Kumbha honours.
During the visit, Revanth Reddy offered the silk robes to the presiding deity and participated in special prayers. He prayed for the peace, prosperity, good health and well-being of the people of Telangana and sought the blessings of Goddess Ujjayini Mahakali for the state’s continued progress and development.
Following the rituals, the temple’s chief priests recited Vedic hymns, blessed the Chief Minister and presented him with Theertha Prasadam.
On the occasion, Dr Kota Neelima, along with the temple’s chief priests, presented a sacred portrait of Goddess Ujjayini Mahakali to the Chief Minister as a mark of reverence. She also briefed him on the historical and spiritual significance of the temple, the importance of the Bonalu festival and the arrangements made to ensure the smooth movement and convenience of the large number of devotees visiting the shrine.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Neelima expressed hope that the blessings of Goddess Ujjayini Mahakali would continue to protect the people of Telangana and that the Bonalu celebrations would be conducted peacefully and successfully, further enriching the state’s cultural and spiritual traditions.
