P. Vasanth, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) and Principal District & Sessions Judge, Nalgonda, inaugurates the Nalgonda chapter of Project P.R.A.N. (Public Redressal Associated Network), a legal aid and public grievance redressal initiative developed by GKNECT in association with GK NAAM Educational and Charitable Trust, New Delhi, on Monday.

NALGONDA: GKNECT, a registered Civil Society Organisation (CSO) with the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA), a Permanent Partner of the United Nations Partner Portal (UNPP), and registered with the United Nations Global Marketplace (UNGM) (Reg. No. 3364), in association with GK NAAM Educational and Charitable Trust, New Delhi, continues to strengthen its commitment to legal empowerment and citizen welfare through Project P.R.A.N. (Public Redressal Associated Network).

Established under the aegis of Legal Aid with ROC No. 5979/TSLSA/2023, the initiative is dedicated to ensuring that every citizen – particularly women, children, senior citizens and persons with disabilities – has access to timely legal assistance, public grievance redressal and justice-oriented support services.

Project P.R.A.N. was inaugurated by P. Vasanth, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) and Principal District & Sessions Judge, Nalgonda. The inauguration reflects the judiciary’s continued commitment to promoting legal awareness and improving access to justice through community-based initiatives.

The project is associated with Dr Supriya Ratna Kumar Goudiperu, Major General, South Asia Commander, International Police Commission (Global Command), IGO, Department of Peacekeeping Operations, and is supported by a distinguished Legal Advisory Board comprising Kuthuru Ravinder Reddy, Retired NIA Special Judge and Former President of the Telangana Judges Association; Sattaru Rajani, Retired District Judge and Practising Advocate; and Syed Rizwan, Advocate, Supreme Court of India.

GKNECT has developed Project P.R.A.N. as a citizen-friendly platform connecting individuals with legal aid institutions, mediation services, counselling, government welfare schemes and social support systems. The initiative follows a structured six-stage grievance redressal mechanism comprising grievance registration, preliminary assessment, referral to competent authorities, legal counselling, mediation and continuous follow-up until satisfactory resolution.

The project also focuses on promoting the rights and welfare of persons with disabilities by facilitating access to disability rights, rehabilitation services, education, skill development, advocacy and government welfare programmes. Simultaneously, it supports women and child development by creating awareness of legal rights, protection against violence and discrimination, child welfare services, counselling and referral mechanisms through recognised legal institutions.

In collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority, Nalgonda, GKNECT will organise legal literacy programmes, awareness campaigns, stakeholder consultations, workshops and community outreach activities to educate citizens about constitutional rights, legal remedies, consumer protection laws and government welfare schemes. These initiatives aim to strengthen public confidence in the justice delivery system while promoting inclusive and sustainable social development.

Through collaboration with legal professionals, government departments, educational institutions, civil society organisations, volunteers and community leaders, Project P.R.A.N. seeks to establish a robust legal support network that empowers citizens, promotes peaceful dispute resolution and ensures that justice is accessible to every individual, irrespective of social or economic status.
