Mumbai: Mahindra & Mahindra’s Farm Equipment Business (FEB) has crossed a landmark production milestone of 70 lakh tractors, reinforcing its position as the world’s largest tractor manufacturer by volume and marking a significant chapter in India’s agricultural mechanisation journey.

The achievement underscores Mahindra’s six-decade-long contribution to transforming farm productivity and rural prosperity through mechanisation. The company said the milestone reflects the trust reposed by millions of farmers in India and across global markets, where Mahindra tractors have become synonymous with reliability, durability and performance.

Mahindra Farm Equipment Business markets its products through leading brands including Mahindra Tractors, Swaraj Tractors and Gromax, which manufactures the Trakstar and Hindustan tractor ranges. The company offers one of the industry’s most comprehensive portfolios, with more than 350 tractor models and variants, complemented by a growing range of farm machinery solutions.

Founded in 1963, Mahindra Tractors remains India’s largest tractor brand, while Swaraj Tractors has emerged as one of the country’s fastest-growing tractor manufacturers over the past decade. Gromax Agri Equipment, a joint venture between Mahindra & Mahindra and the Government of Gujarat, is recognized as India’s leading regional tractor brand.

The milestone comes amid strong business momentum for Mahindra FEB. The company recorded annual tractor sales exceeding 5.26 lakh units during FY26 and introduced several new products, including the Mahindra 585 YUVO TECH+ V1, Mahindra NOVO Premium Edition and Swaraj Protek range. It has also expanded the reach of its Mahindra OJA platform into international markets.

Looking ahead, Mahindra plans to launch seven new tractor models and introduce twelve new features across its Mahindra and Swaraj product portfolios during FY27, further strengthening its technology-led approach to agricultural mechanisation.

Commenting on the achievement, Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director and CEO, Auto & Farm Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., said agriculture would remain central to India’s vision of becoming a developed nation.

“As India progresses towards its vision of Viksit Bharat, transforming agriculture will remain central to nation-building. At Mahindra, we are proud to contribute to this journey, with our tractors strengthening rural communities and supporting long-term national development,” he said.

Veejay Nakra, President, Farm Equipment Business, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., said the milestone represented much more than scale.

“This 70 lakh milestone reflects our deep commitment to farming and the enduring trust farmers have placed in our brands. As we look ahead, our growth will be shaped by evolving farmer needs, with a continued focus on advanced products, intelligent features and solutions that deliver real value in the field,” he said.

Mahindra FEB currently operates in more than 50 countries and remains the global leader in tractor volumes. The United States is its second-largest market after India, supported by more than three decades of presence and local assembly facilities. The company is increasingly focusing on smart agricultural machinery solutions that span the entire farming value chain, from land preparation to post-harvest operations.

Part of the Mahindra Group, which has a presence in over 100 countries and employs more than 3.24 lakh people globally, the company continues to focus on innovation, sustainability and rural prosperity while contributing to India’s agricultural transformation.
