Hyderabad: Tata Power on Wednesday launched its EZ Home automation solutions in Hyderabad, bringing app-based smart home technologies aimed at enhancing convenience, security, and energy efficiency for urban households.

The solution enables users to control lighting, climate, security systems, and appliances through a single digital interface, offering real-time monitoring and intelligent automation tailored for modern lifestyles.

Designed for both new and existing homes, the EZ Home portfolio includes smart sockets, touch panel switches, motion sensors, and retrofittable converters that can be integrated without major infrastructure changes.

A key feature of the system is its focus on energy optimisation. Automated scheduling ensures appliances operate only when required, while intelligent controls help minimise wastage. For a typical urban household, the solution can reduce electricity consumption by approximately 15% annually, translating into savings of over 1,300 units of power and around ₹10,000 in yearly electricity costs.

The reduced energy usage also contributes to environmental benefits, with an estimated reduction of 1.1 tonnes of carbon emissions per year—equivalent to planting about 15 trees annually.

The system incorporates built-in safety features such as overload protection and is designed to function even during limited internet connectivity, ensuring reliability and uninterrupted performance.

An interactive demonstration setup at the launch showcased real-world automation scenarios, allowing users to experience the system’s capabilities and visualise potential energy savings.

The Hyderabad launch is part of Tata Power’s broader “EZ Home – 100 Cities, 1 Purpose” initiative, aimed at expanding access to smart, energy-efficient living solutions across metros as well as Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities.

With Hyderabad emerging as a fast-growing urban and technology hub, the company expects rising demand for connected home solutions that combine convenience with sustainability.

Tata Power, with a diversified portfolio spanning generation, transmission, distribution, and renewable energy, continues to align its consumer offerings with its long-term commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2045.
