GITAM Hyderabad Opens Admissions for 2026–27, Launches School of Education
University expands multidisciplinary offerings with new programmes in AI, Robotics, Entrepreneurship, Biotechnology and Teacher Education

Hyderabad: GITAM (Deemed to be University), Hyderabad, has announced admissions for its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes for the academic year 2026–27, alongside the launch of its new School of Education, marking a significant expansion of its multidisciplinary academic ecosystem.
The university has introduced several new programmes this year aimed at addressing emerging industry requirements and future workforce demands. These include BBA (Entrepreneurship) in collaboration with the Bower School of Entrepreneurship, B.A. B.Ed. and B.Sc. B.Ed. under the Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP), B.Sc. Microbiology, M.Sc. Biotechnology, M.Tech. Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, and M.Pharm. in Industrial Pharmacy.
According to the university, the new programmes have been designed to align academic learning with evolving industry trends, technological advancements and societal needs.
A key differentiator of GITAM Hyderabad is its Liberal Education framework, which enables students to combine majors and minors across disciplines and create personalised academic pathways. The model is intended to provide learners with both specialised knowledge and interdisciplinary exposure while fostering critical thinking, creativity and adaptability.
Admissions are being conducted through GAT 2026 as well as recognised national and state-level entrance examinations, including TG EAPCET, AP EAPCET, NCET, NATA, JEE, CUET, GMAT and CAT, among others.
The university is also offering scholarships of up to 100 per cent covering tuition fees, food and accommodation based on merit and performance in qualifying examinations.
The GITAM Admission Test (GAT 2026), the university’s national-level entrance examination, is scheduled to be held online on June 28, 2026. The last date for submitting applications is June 26, 2026.
The Hyderabad campus currently offers programmes across Engineering, Science, Business, Humanities and Social Sciences, Architecture, Pharmacy and Education, with specialisations spanning Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cyber Security, Biotechnology, Entrepreneurship, Psychology, Economics, Media Studies and Teacher Education.
GITAM Hyderabad also maintains strong industry linkages, with more than 350 recruiters, including Oracle, JTP, OpenText and Deloitte, participating in campus recruitment and career development initiatives.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. D. Sambasiva Rao, Pro Vice-Chancellor, GITAM Hyderabad, said the university remains committed to preparing students for a rapidly evolving global landscape.

Established in 1980, GITAM operates campuses in Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad and Bengaluru, serving over 28,000 students with the support of more than 1,800 faculty members. The university has a global alumni network of over 96,000 members across 105 countries.
