Indigenous telecom security solution recognised at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona
New Delhi: The Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) has earned global recognition at Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona, with its indigenous AI-driven fraud detection platform FraudPro being shortlisted among the top finalists at the Global Mobile (GLOMO) Awards.
FraudPro was selected in the category of Best Network Security and Fraud Prevention, highlighting India’s growing capabilities in developing advanced telecom security technologies.
The solution has been designed to address the increasing challenge of identity-related fraud in telecom networks, which has become a major concern for operators and governments as digital connectivity expands.
Developed by C-DOT, FraudPro uses artificial intelligence, machine learning and facial deduplication technologies to detect fraudulent mobile connections and prevent misuse of telecom resources. The platform can identify forged documents, detect duplicate identities and enable telecom operators to verify and re-verify subscriber credentials across large networks.
The technology is currently deployed by the department of telecommunications as part of the digital intelligence platform and the Sancharsaathi portal, which aims to strengthen telecom security and prevent fraudulent SIM connections.
The Global Mobile Awards, organised by the GSMA at the Mobile World Congress, are widely regarded as among the telecom industry’s most prestigious recognitions, celebrating innovations that transform the global digital ecosystem.
C-DOT said the recognition reflects India’s growing role in shaping next-generation telecom technologies and underscores the country’s progress in building secure and resilient digital infrastructure.
The achievement also highlights India’s efforts to promote indigenous telecom innovation under the vision of AtmaNirbhar Bharat, demonstrating the capability to develop advanced cybersecurity and fraud prevention solutions for large-scale digital networks.
