PM Modi Launches Projects Worth ₹13430 Cr in Andhra Pradesh with Focus on Connectivity and Energy Infrastructure Push

Kurnool, October 17: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday laid the foundation stone, inaugurated, and dedicated to the nation development projects worth ₹13,430 crore in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, spanning sectors such as power, roads, railways, industry, defence manufacturing, and energy infrastructure.

Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister invoked the blessings of Lord Narasimha Swamy of Ahobilam, Shri Mahanandishwara Swamy of Mahanandi, and Guru Shri Raghavendra Swamy of Mantralayam. Reciting a verse from the Dwadasha Jyotirlinga Stotram, he said,

“I feel blessed to have been born in Gujarat, the land of Somnath; to serve in Kashi, the land of Baba Vishwanath; and to receive the blessings of Srisailam today.”

The Prime Minister also paid homage at Sree Shivaji Spoorthi Kendra, bowing to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, and saluted Shaivite saints like Allama Prabhu and Akkamahadevi, as well as freedom fighters Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy and Hari Sarvottama Rao.

Calling Andhra Pradesh the land of “Swabhimaan” and “Sanskriti”, the Prime Minister described it as a hub of science, technology, and innovation.

“What Andhra Pradesh needed was the right vision and leadership. With leaders like Chandrababu Naidu Garu and Pawan Kalyan Garu, and the full support of the Centre, Andhra Pradesh now has both,” he said.

He praised the joint efforts of Delhi and Amaravati, noting that the past 16 months have seen “unprecedented progress” in the state.

Connectivity and Energy Infrastructure Push

The Prime Minister announced several key initiatives to strengthen connectivity and energy capacity.

  • A ₹3,000 crore power transmission project was launched to boost the state’s energy infrastructure.
  • The Srikakulam–Angul Natural Gas Pipeline and an LPG bottling plant in Chittoor were inaugurated, expected to benefit over 15 lakh households and generate local employment.
  • The six-lane Greenfield Highway between Sabbavaram and Sheelanagar will ease congestion and promote trade, while multiple railway projects worth ₹1,200 crore will enhance regional mobility.

“From clean energy to total energy production, India is setting new records. Multi-modal infrastructure is developing rapidly, connecting villages to cities and ports,” the Prime Minister said.

Google AI Hub and Future Technologies

In a major announcement, the Prime Minister revealed that Google will establish India’s first Artificial Intelligence Hub in Andhra Pradesh.

“The world today is witnessing the speed and scale of both India and Andhra Pradesh. Google’s AI Hub will make Visakhapatnam a major global connectivity centre,” he stated.

The AI Hub will feature advanced data infrastructure, energy systems, and subsea gateways, establishing the eastern coast as a critical node in global digital networks.

Industrial Growth and Defence Manufacturing

The Prime Minister also laid foundation stones for the Orvakal and Kopparthy Industrial Areas, with investments exceeding ₹4,900 crore, expected to attract ₹21,000 crore and generate one lakh jobs.
He also dedicated Bharat Electronics Limited’s Advanced Night Vision Products Factory in Nimmaluru, underscoring India’s progress in defence self-reliance.

“Today, the world views India as the new manufacturing centre of the 21st century. Andhra Pradesh is playing a key role in the success of Aatmanirbhar Bharat,” he said.

The Prime Minister lauded Andhra’s plan to develop Kurnool as a Drone Hub, adding that it would open new technological frontiers and employment opportunities.

Reiterating the government’s commitment to citizen-centric development, the Prime Minister noted that income up to ₹12 lakh is now tax-free, and GST reductions announced during Navratri will lead to savings of ₹8,000 crore in Andhra Pradesh under the “Super GST – Super Savings” campaign.

He called upon citizens to celebrate this initiative in alignment with the ‘Vocal for Local’ movement.

“Our government’s vision is continuous reform and citizen-centric growth. Through every measure, we are making people’s lives easier,” he added.

Prime Minister Modi concluded by reaffirming that Andhra Pradesh’s development is integral to India’s rise.

“The dream of a developed India will be realized through a developed Andhra Pradesh,” he said, congratulating the people of the state on the launch of the new projects.

Governor Syed Abdul Nazeer, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, Union Ministers Rammohan Naidu Kinjarapu, Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, and Bhupathi Raju Srinivasa Varma attended the event.
