WARSAW: India and Poland have explored opportunities to expand cooperation in artificial intelligence, semiconductors, data centres, cybersecurity and critical minerals during a high-level Indian delegation’s visit to Poland on November 2–3, 2026.

Minister of State for Commerce and Industry and Electronics and Information Technology Jitin Prasada led a business delegation comprising representatives of 12 Indian companies. The visit focused on strengthening bilateral trade, investment and technology partnerships, building on the India–Poland Strategic Partnership established in 2024.

During a meeting with Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Affairs, Krzysztof Gawkowski, discussions centred on cooperation in emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, semiconductors, data centres and cybersecurity.

In a separate meeting with Poland’s Deputy Minister for Economic Development and Technology, Michal Baranowski, the two sides discussed opportunities for collaboration in critical minerals, semiconductors and startup partnerships. Prasada highlighted the potential of India’s Make in India initiative and called for greater co-development and co-production supported by technology transfer.

The minister also met Ignacy Niemczycki, Secretary of State in Poland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Their discussions covered opportunities arising from the India–European Union Free Trade Agreement, which, according to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, is expected to come into effect in the coming months.

Prasada highlighted opportunities for cooperation in agri-tech and food processing and called for greater participation by small and medium enterprises in bilateral trade.

Business partnerships and investment opportunities

On November 3, Prasada delivered the opening address at the India–Poland Business Forum organised at the Polish National Chamber of Commerce in Warsaw. He urged businesses in both countries to explore new trade and investment opportunities, build stronger partnerships and make use of the market-access opportunities expected under the India–EU trade agreement.

The minister also interacted with members of the Indian business community in Poland and potential Polish investors interested in exploring investment opportunities in India.

As part of the industry engagement programme, he visited Transition Technologies, a Polish IT and software engineering company, and WB Electronics, a Polish defence company. Both have business interests in India.

The visit followed Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s visit to India in October 2026 and formed part of the continuing high-level engagement between the two countries.

India and Poland are seeking to deepen cooperation across technology, manufacturing and investment while strengthening resilient global supply chains. The discussions on semiconductors, critical minerals and emerging technologies indicate areas where the two countries could develop closer industrial and research partnerships.
