Hyderabad: US-based financial services giant Nationwide has inaugurated its first international campus in Hyderabad, marking a significant milestone in the company’s 100-year history and reinforcing Telangana’s growing stature as a global destination for banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI) innovation.
The new facility, established as Nationwide Global Services Center (Nationwide India), is the company’s first operational campus outside the United States. It joins Nationwide’s existing locations in Columbus (Ohio), Des Moines (Iowa) and Scottsdale (Arizona), extending the Fortune 100 company’s operations to a truly global footprint.
Hyderabad to Drive Global Innovation
The Hyderabad centre will play a strategic role in Nationwide’s newly adopted 24×7 global operating model, supporting critical business functions, accelerating innovation, enhancing organisational agility and strengthening decision-making across the enterprise.
The company said its India operations will build advanced capabilities while driving greater speed, productivity and operational excellence across its global businesses.
Leading the Hyderabad campus is Vikas Jaswal, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Nationwide Global Services – India, who will oversee operations, talent acquisition and innovation initiatives.
“The Hyderabad campus enables Nationwide to meet increased business demand, growth goals, and expands our global operational capabilities,” Jaswal said. “The highly skilled talent market in India and Hyderabad’s mature global capability ecosystem make it an ideal choice for our expanded global workforce.”
Telangana Strengthens Global Capability Centre Leadership
Welcoming the investment, Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Telangana’s Minister for Information Technology, Electronics, Communications, Industries & Commerce and Legislative Affairs, said Hyderabad has evolved into one of the world’s leading innovation destinations for the BFSI sector.
According to the minister, nine of the world’s top ten BFSI companies already operate innovation and advanced product engineering centres from Hyderabad.
He said Nationwide’s entry further strengthens Telangana’s expanding ecosystem of Global Value Centers (GVCs) and reflects growing international confidence in the state’s technology talent and innovation capabilities.
Focus on Talent and Innovation
Nationwide said its India operations will combine a people-first workplace culture with flexible work models and long-term career opportunities.
The Hyderabad campus is expected to leverage the city’s deep talent pool and established technology ecosystem to build engineering, digital and business capabilities supporting Nationwide’s worldwide operations.
Jaswal, who has over 25 years of experience in building Global Capability Centers across India, will lead capability development while working closely with global leadership teams to align technology and business transformation initiatives.
Company Marks 100 Years of Operations
The expansion comes as Nationwide enters its 100th year of operations, reporting its fifth consecutive year of record growth and its strongest financial position to date.
The company said robust performance across both its financial services and property & casualty businesses has strengthened its position as a modern mutual organisation focused on long-term stability, disciplined growth and customer value.
