ASMITA Women City League Cycling Competition to Be Held in Medchal Malkajgiri on June 13

Hyderabad: The Medchal Malkajgiri District Cycling Association, under the aegis of the Telangana Cycling Association, will organise the ASMITA Women City League Cycling Competition on June 13 at Keesara Service Road near ORR Exit 8.

The event is being conducted under the ASMITA (Achieving Sports Milestone by Inspiring Women Through Action) initiative of Khelo India and the Sports Authority of India, with the objective of promoting women’s participation in cycling and identifying emerging talent in the sport.

Organisers said the competition will provide a dedicated platform for girls and women across different age categories to showcase their cycling abilities, compete in a structured environment and gain opportunities to progress to higher-level state and national competitions.

The initiative is aimed at encouraging greater participation of women in sports, promoting fitness and healthy lifestyles, and creating pathways for talented cyclists to advance in competitive cycling.

Officials said the event aligns with the broader goals of Khelo India to strengthen grassroots sports development and increase opportunities for women athletes across the country.

Participants from across Telangana are expected to take part in the competition.
