New Delhi: The Department of Posts has reported a revenue of ₹15,296 crore in FY 2025–26, marking a 16% growth over the previous year, as the government positions India Post as a modern, integrated service organisation.

The performance was reviewed at the Annual Business Meet 2026–27 chaired by Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, with participation from senior officials and Chief Postmasters General from across all 23 postal circles.

Describing FY26 as a “historic year,” the Minister highlighted that the Department achieved 88% of its ₹17,546 crore target, with broad-based performance across regions. Eight circles exceeded 90% of their targets, while fourteen recorded achievement levels between 80% and 90%.

Citizen Centric Services (CCS) emerged as the fastest-growing vertical, registering a 70% increase, while parcel services recorded 69% growth, reflecting rising demand for logistics and last-mile delivery. Mail operations grew 34%, insurance services under PLI/RPLI expanded by 30%, and Post Office Savings Bank services recorded a 13% increase.

Among regions, Rajasthan Circle stood out as the best-performing circle, achieving 102% of its revenue target along with 34% year-on-year growth, setting a benchmark for operational efficiency and business expansion.

While acknowledging the strong performance, the Minister noted that core segments such as parcels, mail and international business require sharper strategic focus to fully unlock their growth potential. He emphasised that these segments must evolve into key revenue engines to support India Post’s long-term transformation.

The meeting outlined a roadmap focused on strengthening organisational structures across four functional verticals—parcel operations, human resources, finance and business development—along with enhanced monitoring, leadership-driven business acquisition and a structured customer lifecycle strategy.

The Minister also called for better integration of mail and parcel operations, targeted interventions in underperforming circles, and scaling up of high-growth segments by replicating best practices from top-performing regions.

Reaffirming the Department’s transformation agenda, he said India Post is evolving into a future-ready, service-driven organisation aligned with the broader vision of digital governance and inclusive service delivery.

The Department plans to accelerate growth in FY27 by deepening market engagement in logistics, expanding citizen-centric services, and revitalising its international business segment.
