The event coincided with the 16th Foundation Day of Aadhaar, underscoring the digital identity system’s evolution into the backbone of India’s digital public infrastructure.
Hyderabad, September 30: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) on Monday convened the fourth edition of its flagship stakeholder conference, Aadhaar Samvaad, in Hyderabad, bringing together more than 700 senior policymakers, industry leaders, technocrats, and startups to discuss ways of enhancing service delivery and expanding innovation around Aadhaar.
The event coincided with the 16th Foundation Day of Aadhaar, underscoring the digital identity system’s evolution into the backbone of India’s digital public infrastructure. Since its launch, Aadhaar has enabled efficient service delivery, promoted financial and digital inclusion, and supported governance reforms across sectors.
S. Krishnan, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, called Aadhaar “the safest and most convenient identity framework” and urged UIDAI to keep expanding its innovations with user convenience at the core. UIDAI Chairperson Neelkanth Mishra stressed the importance of engaging stakeholders to unlock new use cases, while CEO Bhuvnesh Kumar described Aadhaar as a “journey of empowerment, accessibility, and trust,” vital to India’s digital future.
To mark the occasion, India Post unveiled Aadhaar MyStamp and a special cover to commemorate 16 years of Aadhaar. UIDAI also released its new Aadhaar Brand Manual, setting clear guidelines for consistent branding across digital and physical platforms.
The UIDAI Technology Centre demonstrated the upcoming Aadhaar mobile app, designed to give users greater control over sharing their Aadhaar information while offering a wider range of services in one place.
This was the fourth edition of Aadhaar Samvaad, following previous conferences in Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Delhi that focused on digital identity technologies, fintech, and governance. The Hyderabad edition, themed “Connect, Empower, Innovate”, featured discussions on innovation in digital identity systems, expanding Aadhaar’s use by non-government entities, and new developments in enrollment and updates.
