Frankfurt/Mumbai: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has launched its new SovereignSecure Cloud™ platform in Europe, expanding its global cloud portfolio with a strategic offering designed to help governments, public sector organisations and regulated industries achieve greater digital sovereignty, regulatory compliance and operational security.

The launch comes at a time when European nations and enterprises are increasingly seeking tighter control over critical digital infrastructure, data localisation and AI-enabled cloud environments amid growing geopolitical, cybersecurity and supply chain concerns.

The new platform combines sovereign cloud architecture with artificial intelligence capabilities aimed at enabling autonomy across data, operations and digital infrastructure while maintaining business agility and interoperability.

According to TCS, the European offering builds on the successful rollout of SovereignSecure Cloud™ in India in 2025, followed by expansion into Kenya, East Africa and the Philippines.

TCS said the European version has been designed through a multi-layered sovereignty model comprising sovereign cloud infrastructure delivered through hyperscalers, country-specific national sovereign cloud layers and an enterprise cloud services layer powered by the EU-specific TCS Enterprise Cloud Framework.

The framework enables enterprises to dynamically apply varying levels of sovereignty controls across data, operations and technology environments depending on workload sensitivity, risk exposure and regulatory requirements.

Sapthagiri Chapalapalli, Head of Europe at TCS, said European enterprises are increasingly looking for a balance between resilience, sovereignty and access to frontier technologies.

“European organizations are looking to strike a balance between addressing supply chain and sovereignty risks while ensuring leverage of frontier technologies to be globally competitive,” he said.

“TCS SovereignSecure Cloud solutions mark an important milestone for TCS in Europe, as our customers can now benefit from a pragmatic approach to cloud that ensures resilience and sovereignty that is contextualized to the enterprise,” Chapalapalli added.

As part of the initiative, TCS is also introducing its Sovereignty Consulting and Delivery Framework in the European Union to help organisations identify the minimum level of sovereign protection required across different digital workloads using a risk-based approach.

The company said the model recognises that not all enterprise workloads require the same degree of sovereignty controls and seeks to optimise operational flexibility while prioritising protection for critical systems.

Industry observers say sovereign cloud infrastructure is becoming a strategic priority globally as governments and enterprises seek to reduce dependence on foreign-controlled digital infrastructure and strengthen compliance with increasingly stringent data governance regulations.

TCS currently operates in Europe through 58 offices, 21 delivery locations and 10 data centres, serving clients across banking, telecom, manufacturing, retail, logistics and financial services sectors.

Headquartered in India, TCS reported consolidated revenues exceeding US$30 billion for the financial year ended March 2026 and continues to position itself as an AI-led global technology services company.
