Voters can check their names in SIR draft roll online without visiting polling booths; here’s how
With Telangana’s SIR draft electoral roll now available, voters can check their names and details online using the ECI portal instead of making repeated trips to polling booths or election
The online facility is particularly useful for voters who submitted their enumeration forms during the revision exercise and now want to confirm whether their names have made it to the draft roll.
HYDERABAD: With the draft electoral roll under Telangana’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) already published, voters can check online whether their names and details have been included instead of making repeated visits to polling booths to verify their status.
The Telangana Chief Electoral Office released the SIR draft electoral roll after the enumeration phase, making the draft rolls available through the Election Commission of India’s (ECI) online voter services system.
The online facility is particularly useful for voters who submitted their enumeration forms during the revision exercise and now want to confirm whether their names have made it to the draft roll.
The ECI’s voter services portal provides dedicated SIR-2026 services, including downloading electoral rolls, searching names and checking other voter-related information.
How to check your name in Telangana SIR draft electoral roll
The process requires the voter to identify the relevant Part Number and Part Serial Number before checking the draft roll.
First, go to the ECI website and select the “Search Your Name in E-roll” option. The service redirects the voter to the relevant ECI voter-search page.
A voter can search using the EPIC number printed on the voter ID card and select Telangana as the State. Alternatively, the voter can search using personal details or a registered mobile number.
After entering the captcha, the search results provide details including the elector’s name, age, relative’s name, district, Assembly Constituency, Part Number, polling station and Part Serial Number.
The Part Number and Part Serial Number are important because the SIR draft electoral roll is available as polling-part-wise PDF files rather than as one single searchable document.
Once these details are available, return to the ECI website and select “SIR-2026 Download Electoral Roll”.
Select:

- Language: Telugu or English
The system will then display the Part Numbers and corresponding Part Names for the selected Assembly Constituency.
Enter the relevant Part Number in the search box. Once the corresponding polling area appears, select it, enter the captcha and download the draft electoral roll PDF.
Open the downloaded PDF and look for the voter’s Part Serial Number. The names in the roll are arranged serial-wise, so a voter whose Part Serial Number is 123 can check the entry at serial number 123.
The Telangana Today guide notes that a voter’s details will appear in the SIR draft roll only if the enumeration form was submitted.
What if the name is missing?
A missing name in the draft roll does not necessarily mean that a citizen has permanently lost the right to be enrolled.
The ECI’s SIR framework provides a claims-and-objections stage after publication of the draft roll. The Commission has also stated that electors who were unable to submit enumeration forms during the enumeration phase can apply through Form 6 along with the prescribed declaration during the claims-and-objections period.
The ECI’s citizen portal currently also provides options to track applications, submit documents against notices, search voter lists, book a call with a Booth Level Officer and track appeals.
Notices can also be checked online
The post-draft stage is particularly important for electors whose details require verification. The ECI’s online voter services portal provides a facility to submit documents against notices issued during the SIR process.
The Commission’s broader SIR instructions provide for notices to be issued after publication of the draft electoral roll in cases where an elector could not be linked with the previous intensive-revision electoral roll.
This means voters need not rely entirely on physical visits to polling stations to establish what has happened to their application. Checking the online electoral roll and the available voter-service options can provide the first indication of whether the name has been included or whether further action is required.
A digital facility that remained underused
The SIR exercise has also exposed a gap between the availability of digital election services and their actual use by citizens.
During the enumeration phase, the ECI had provided an online facility through the Voters’ Services Portal for eligible electors to fill and submit their enumeration forms without waiting for a physical copy from the Booth Level Officer. The facility required login using a registered mobile number or EPIC number and OTP-based authentication.
The online route could have reduced the burden on both electors and field staff, particularly in households where the required electoral details could be established from previous rolls.
With the enumeration phase now over and the draft roll published, however, the immediate task for voters is simpler: check the draft roll, verify the details and act promptly if the name is missing or any information is incorrect.
