Hyderabad: CURAPOD, a personalised wearable pain therapy device backed by Litemed India, has partnered with VridhCare Quality of Life Foundation to support senior citizens through a Father’s Day initiative focused on pain management, mobility and healthy ageing.

The initiative forms part of CURAPOD’s ongoing “21 Days, 21 Fathers” campaign, which aims to encourage greater awareness and conversations around pain management, mobility challenges and overall well-being among fathers and older adults.

As part of the programme, CURAPOD’s founders, doctors, trainers and healthcare experts visited Amma Nanna Old Age Home in Hyderabad, where they interacted with 35 senior citizens and caregivers through demonstrations and awareness sessions on personalised, non-invasive pain management technologies.

The programme also included training sessions for caregivers and volunteers on device usage and therapy protocols, enabling them to continue supporting elderly residents beyond the event itself. The initiative combined healthcare innovation with community outreach to promote improved mobility, pain relief and overall quality of life for senior citizens.

For CURAPOD Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer Suryaprakash Maguluri, the event carried personal significance. Having lost both grandfathers at an early age while growing up with his grandmothers, he described the interaction with elderly residents as an emotional and meaningful experience that reinforced the need for stronger support systems for senior citizens.

“Many senior citizens silently live with chronic pain that affects their mobility, independence and overall quality of life. Through our partnership with VridhCare, we hope to make effective, non-invasive pain relief more accessible and help elderly residents stay active and have a pain-free life,” Maguluri said.

Gargi Lakhanpal, director of VridhCare Quality of Life Foundation, said the initiative addresses an important need, as many elderly residents in old-age homes experience joint and muscle pain due to physical limitations and sedentary lifestyles.

She expressed hope that the programme would inspire more organisations to contribute towards improving the lives of senior citizens through collaborative efforts.

The two organisations plan to expand their collaboration through future outreach programmes focused on supporting senior citizens and promoting healthier ageing practices.

Founded in 2022 by Sriram Velliyur and Surya Maguluri, CURAPOD develops non-invasive, drug-free pain management solutions based on medical-grade photobiomodulation technology. The company says its technology is designed to address more than 30 musculoskeletal conditions and has been clinically validated through multicentre trials. The products are engineered and manufactured in India and distributed through a digital-first model supported by clinical partnerships.
