Sreenidhi University TG20 Set for Grand Debut on June 21, Vijay Deverakonda Named Brand Ambassador

Hyderabad: Telangana cricket is set for a historic moment with the launch of the inaugural season of the Sreenidhi University TG20, which will begin on June 21 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad. The league has also announced popular actor Vijay Deverakonda as its Brand Ambassador.
The opening match will see Palamuru Strikers take on Anvita Khammam Aces under lights on June 21. The league stage will continue until July 7, followed by the playoffs beginning on July 9. The final of the inaugural season is scheduled for July 12.
The tournament will showcase some of the biggest names in Telangana and Indian domestic cricket. India pacer Mohammed Siraj will headline the Warangal Warriors squad, while India T20 vice-captain Tilak Varma and Ravi Teja will represent Medak Falcons.
Other notable players include Rahul Buddhi and Rakshann Readdi for Anurag Nalgonda Knights, CV Milind and Mickil Jaiswal for Anvita Khammam Aces, Tanmay Agarwal for EIPL & Eleve Karimnagar Diamonds, Rohit Rayudu for Palamuru Strikers and all-rounder Tanay Thyagarajan for Ranga Reddy Risers.
Cricket fans across the country will be able to watch all matches live on Star Sports, Star Sports 2, Star Sports 2 Telugu and JioHotstar, providing extensive television and digital coverage for the tournament.
Among the marquee fixtures of the season will be the clash between Mohammed Siraj’s Warangal Warriors and Tilak Varma’s Medak Falcons on June 22, the Hyderabad derby between Hyderabad E-Champions and Ranga Reddy Risers on June 25, and the regional rivalry between Palamuru Strikers and Warangal Warriors on July 3.
V. Agam Rao, Chairman of the TG20 Governing Council at the Hyderabad Cricket Association, said the tournament schedule has been designed to maintain excitement throughout the season with a mix of rivalries, prime-time fixtures and fan engagement activities. He added that Vijay Deverakonda’s association would further enhance the league’s visibility and appeal.
Speaking on his association with the league, Vijay Deverakonda said TG20 represents an opportunity to discover the next generation of cricketing talent from Telangana.
“Every cricket legend was once an unknown name with a dream. TG20 is about discovering the next one. Somewhere in Telangana, a young cricketer is waiting for a chance to inspire millions. The opening ceremony will begin at 5:30 PM on June 21 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium and will feature a live performance by National Award-winning music composer Thaman S.
With double-headers, day-night matches, emerging talent and established stars, the Sreenidhi University TG20 aims to provide a major platform for Telangana cricket while delivering a world-class entertainment experience for fans. Tickets for the inaugural season will go live on District by Zomato from June 17.
