Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Saturday announced four major decisions aimed at addressing long-pending demands of government employees, including clearance of ₹6,000 crore dues within 100 days and issuance of health cards to all employees by June 1.

The announcements came after a meeting with representatives of the Employees Joint Action Committee (JAC), following which unions decided to withdraw planned protests and dharnas from May 5.

The Chief Minister said the government will prioritise disbursement of pending retirement benefits amounting to ₹6,000 crore within a defined 100-day timeline. He also confirmed that a comprehensive health card system will be rolled out for all employees by June 1.

In another key decision, the Chief Minister directed the Pay Revision Commission (PRC) to submit its report immediately, signalling that the government is ready to take a call on salary revisions.

To streamline grievance redressal, the government proposed a structured engagement mechanism under which employee unions will meet once every two months and submit reports outlining their issues and concerns.

During the meeting, Revanth Reddy highlighted that timely salary disbursal on the first day of every month was among the first administrative decisions taken after assuming office. He also noted that employee unions were given full freedom to conduct internal elections independently.

The Chief Minister acknowledged the role of government employees in implementing welfare schemes and development programmes, stating that their contribution has been central to governance since the Congress government assumed power in the state. He also pointed to the recruitment of 67,760 employees across departments as part of efforts to strengthen the administrative system.

Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said the government is working towards clearing all pending bills by June 2, coinciding with state formation day. He added that large-scale dues had accumulated over the past decade and a structured approach is being followed to resolve them.

Welcoming the government’s response, Employees JAC leaders, including M. Jagadish and others, announced withdrawal of strike calls and protest programmes scheduled in the coming days.

The Chief Minister described the administration as a “friendly government” committed to employee welfare, assuring that resolving their issues remains a priority.
