Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, September 30: Maharashtra Industrial Township Limited (MITL) on Monday celebrated the sixth anniversary of AURIC Industrial Smart City at Shendra, highlighting the project’s rapid growth and unveiling new initiatives aimed at boosting industrial digitalization and connectivity.

The event also marked one year since Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated the Bidkin Industrial Area (BIA) to the nation. On the occasion, MITL rolled out a new corporate logo and website, launched a Utility Billing Dashboard and Right to Services feature, and released a coffee table book chronicling AURIC’s journey.

A major highlight was the inauguration of the AURIC–Samruddhi Connector, linking the city directly to the Mumbai–Nagpur Expressway. Officials said the new link will sharply reduce transport time and costs, enhancing AURIC’s appeal as a logistics hub for domestic and international markets.

Industries Minister Uday Samant, who presided over the celebrations, said AURIC has become a model for Maharashtra’s industrial transformation and will play a central role in achieving the national vision of Viksit Bharat@2047. “AURIC is ready to attract global investment aligned with the ‘Make in India, Make for the World’ mission,” he said, adding that land acquisition for expansion will be carried out without harming farmer livelihoods.

Since its launch, AURIC has allotted 327 industrial plots across 3,039 acres and 137 acres of mixed-use land, attracting projects worth ₹72,000 crore with the potential to generate over 63,000 jobs. Currently, 78 units are operational, more than 70 are under construction, and over 180 are preparing to break ground.

The smart city already hosts investments from leading firms including Ather Energy, Lubrizol, Toyota Kirloskar, and JSW Green Mobility. The BIA alone has commitments worth over ₹56,000 crore, expected to create 35,000 jobs.

Developed as part of the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor, AURIC integrates residential, commercial, and industrial zones under a “walk-to-work” model. MITL leaders reiterated their commitment to transforming it into a global manufacturing powerhouse for the Marathwada region.
