New Delhi: In a move aimed at improving passenger convenience and enhancing regional rail connectivity, Indian Railways has approved additional stoppages for four trains at key stations in Haryana and Rajasthan. The decision is expected to benefit thousands of daily commuters, students, farmers, traders and long-distance travelers across the two states.

The newly approved stoppages include the 54085/54086 Delhi–Satrod Passenger at Patuwas Meharana station in Haryana, the 14619/14620 Agartala–Ferozpur Express and 14717/14718 Bikaner–Haridwar Express at Hansi station in Haryana, and the 12981/12982 Jaipur–Asarva Express at Bijainagar station in Rajasthan.

According to Indian Railways, the decision was taken after a detailed assessment of passenger demand and operational feasibility, with the objective of making rail travel more accessible and convenient for local communities.

Better Connectivity for Patuwas Meharana

Located on the Rewari–Bhiwani section, Patuwas Meharana station currently receives services from three pairs of Mail/Express trains and two pairs of Passenger trains. The addition of the Delhi–Satrod Passenger halt is expected to significantly improve travel options for residents of the surrounding region.

Previously, passengers had to depend on nearby stations at Jharili and Charkhi Dadri, situated approximately 6 km and 7 km away respectively, to board the train. The new stoppage is expected to enhance first-mile and last-mile connectivity while reducing travel time and inconvenience for daily commuters.

Hansi Gains Access to Additional Long-Distance Services

Hansi, one of the important railway stations on the Bhiwani–Hisar section, is already served by several passenger and express trains. The addition of stoppages for the Agartala–Ferozpur Express and Bikaner–Haridwar Express will provide residents with direct access to more long-distance destinations across northern, eastern and western India.

Until now, these trains stopped only at Bhiwani City and Hisar stations, located approximately 37 km and 25 km away respectively. The new halts are expected to improve travel flexibility and reduce dependence on neighboring stations for long-distance journeys.

Bijainagar Gets Direct Access to Jaipur–Asarva Express

Passengers in Rajasthan’s Bijainagar will also benefit from enhanced connectivity with the approval of a stoppage for the Jaipur–Asarva Express.

Bijainagar, an important station on the Ajmer–Chanderiya section, is currently served by 19 pairs of Mail/Express trains and eight pairs of Special trains. The new halt will strengthen rail connectivity between Rajasthan and Gujarat while providing additional travel options for students, business travelers, traders and tourists.

Previously, passengers had to travel to Nasirabad or Bhilwara, located around 42 km and 67 km away respectively, to access this service.

Focus on Passenger-Centric Rail Services

The latest approvals reflect Indian Railways’ ongoing efforts to respond to passenger demand and improve accessibility through strategic service enhancements. By introducing train stoppages at locations where operational feasibility and public demand align, the national transporter continues to strengthen regional connectivity and improve the overall travel experience.

The initiative is expected to provide tangible benefits to local communities by making rail transportation more convenient, reducing travel distances to nearby stations and expanding access to key passenger services across Haryana and Rajasthan.
