New Delhi: Indian Medicines Pharmaceuticals Corporation Ltd (IMPCL), a central public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Ayush, currently operates only one production unit in the country, located at Mohan (via Ramnagar) in Almora district of Uttarakhand.

In a written reply in the Lok Sabha on Friday, Anupriya Patel, Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers, said that there is no proposal under consideration to expand IMPCL’s production facilities. The ministry has also clarified that there are no plans to establish a production unit in Kerala.

The minister informed that IMPCL’s products are distributed through government healthcare networks, including the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS), Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), and various central government institutes and councils.

In the open market, a select range of IMPCL products is available through digital platforms such as 1mg and Mystore on the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC).

The government further stated that no proposals are pending for expanding IMPCL’s presence in the open market.
