Dr Ambedkar Nagar, Madhya Pradesh, August 27: Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan on Wednesday released two landmark doctrinal publications — the Joint Doctrine for Special Forces Operations and the Joint Doctrine for Airborne & Heliborne Operations — at the RAN SAMWAD Tri-Service Seminar held at the Army War College, Dr Ambedkar Nagar, Madhya Pradesh.

The release ceremony was attended by Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, Chief of the Naval Staff; Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, Chief of the Air Staff; and Lieutenant General Pushpendra Singh, Vice Chief of the Army Staff.

Guiding Principles for Joint Operations

The doctrines have been formulated under the aegis of the Doctrine Directorate, Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff, with active inputs from the Army, Navy, and Air Force. They outline guiding principles, operational concepts, and frameworks for interoperability in conducting Special Forces missions and Airborne & Heliborne operations.

General Chauhan commended the professionalism and adaptability of the three Services, noting that the doctrines will serve as pivotal references for planners, commanders, and operators in an evolving battlespace marked by rapid technological and strategic changes.

Enhancing Jointness and Readiness

Defence officials said the release of these doctrines marks a major stride in strengthening joint operational capability and fostering synergy across the Services, ensuring preparedness to counter emerging security challenges with precision and resolve.

The documents are now publicly accessible on the official website of the Integrated Defence Staff (http://ids.nic.in/content/doctrines), providing a reference point for military professionals, analysts, and strategic planners.
