JAIPUR: The National AI Literacy Program and its flagship course, YUVA AI for All, mark a major push to make artificial intelligence a core life skill for India’s youth and citizens, aligning digital empowerment with the country’s vision of a Viksit Bharat.

The programme was launched at the Rajasthan Regional AI Impact Summit in Jaipur, positioning AI literacy as a nationwide movement rather than a one-time initiative. Highlighted around National Youth Day, the initiative connects the idea of youth empowerment with practical readiness for an AI-driven economy.

At the heart of the programme is the YUVA AI for All foundational course, designed as an inclusive entry point to AI learning. With a duration of just over four hours, the course requires no prior technical background and introduces learners to the basics of artificial intelligence, its underlying technologies, practical applications for learning and creativity, ethical considerations, and future trends.

Speaking at the launch, Ashwini Vaishnaw said it was important for citizens—especially the youth—to understand what AI is, how it works, where it is used, and how it can be applied responsibly in daily life. He noted that small-scale enterprises stand to benefit significantly from AI adoption in routine work, improving productivity, and said the programme aims to mobilise 10 lakh learners within a year.

The YUVA AI for All course will be available free of cost in 11 Indian languages—Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil and Telugu—ensuring wide and inclusive access. Learners can access the course through platforms such as FutureSkills Prime, iGOT Karmayogi, DIKSHA and other leading ed-tech portals. On completion, participants will receive an official certificate issued by the Government of India.

Envisioned as the foundation of a scalable and inclusive AI literacy ecosystem, the programme aims to prepare citizens—particularly the youth—for both the opportunities and responsibilities that come with rapid AI adoption. Through coordinated efforts across ministries, states, educational institutions, industry and digital platforms, YUVA AI for All seeks to strengthen India’s leadership in AI for public good while democratising access to AI knowledge nationwide.
