Zydus and Pinkathon launch Hyderabad chapter to drive breast cancer awareness
The Hyderabad chapter will bring together women from diverse backgrounds to highlight the importance of regular self-breast examinations, a message central to Zydus’ “Easiest Exam” campaign — which encourages women to take three minutes each month to check for early signs of breast cancer.
6th edition of Zydus Pinkathon to be held on February 15, 2026; campaign to focus on early detection and monthly self-exams
Hyderabad, December 10: Zydus Lifesciences and Pinkathon announced the 6th edition of the Hyderabad Pinkathon, scheduled for February 15, 2026 at People’s Plaza, Necklace Road. The run is part of a nationwide movement aimed at strengthening awareness on breast cancer, early detection and women’s health.
The Hyderabad chapter will bring together women from diverse backgrounds to highlight the importance of regular self-breast examinations, a message central to Zydus’ “Easiest Exam” campaign — which encourages women to take three minutes each month to check for early signs of breast cancer.
Zydus said it plans to engage women across Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Chennai during the 2025–26 Pinkathon season, reinforcing its commitment to women’s health through accessible education and preventive care.
Dr Sharvil Patel, managing director of Zydus Lifesciences, said the initiative seeks to empower women with knowledge that can save lives. “A simple three-minute self-examination each month can make a life-saving difference. Through Pinkathon, we aim to reach more women, raise awareness and inspire collective action in the fight against breast cancer,” he said.
The announcement was made by surgical oncologist Dr Mohana Vamsy, founder of Omega Hospitals; Milind Soman, founder of Pinkathon; and Ankita Konwar, founder of Invincible Women. The speakers stressed the need for preventive healthcare and early detection, noting that breast cancer remains one of the most common cancers among women.
Through its “Do Haath, Teen Minute, Aur Ek Aasaan sa Exam” initiative, Zydus is amplifying the importance of self-examination as part of its broader Easiest Exam campaign. The awareness drive includes educational content, expert interactions with oncologists, survivor stories and community outreach activities.
Milind Soman said Pinkathon continues to serve as a platform for women to prioritise their health. “Pinkathon is a celebration of women choosing themselves — their health, their fitness and their wellbeing. With Zydus as a partner, we aim to ensure every woman understands the critical importance of early detection and self-care,” he said.
Dr Mohan Vamsy added that timely self-checks can dramatically improve outcomes. “A check that takes not more than three minutes once every month can change the course of treatment. Events like Pinkathon make women comfortable discussing breast health and encourage them to seek early screening,” he said.
Breast cancer affects more than 200,000 women in India every year, with late detection remaining a primary cause of mortality. Pinkathon’s return to six major cities this season aims to drive stronger community participation, reach vulnerable groups and promote preventive action.
