NIEPID, Divi’s Foundation Sign MoU to Strengthen Early Intervention for Children with Disabilities
Signing the MoU on World Disability Day, both organisations emphasised the importance of building stronger, more inclusive ecosystems of care.
Hyderabad, December 3: Marking World Disability Day, the National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (NIEPID), Secunderabad, and the Divi’s Foundation for Gifted Children (DFGC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to expand collaborative services for children with developmental disabilities.
The partnership, implemented through DFGC’s Varnam Child Development Centre, aims to bring together NIEPID’s national expertise in disability empowerment with the foundation’s growing work in developmental care, family training, and community outreach. The three-year MoU focuses on early identification and intervention, capacity building for professionals and caregivers, joint research initiatives, and strengthening community awareness around disability inclusion.
According to the institutions, the collaboration is designed to improve access to timely support for children with developmental delays, intellectual disabilities, and neurodevelopmental conditions by integrating research-backed practices with community-level service delivery. A joint coordination committee will oversee the partnership, ensuring structured implementation, knowledge sharing, and measurable outcomes.
Signing the MoU on World Disability Day, both organisations emphasised the importance of building stronger, more inclusive ecosystems of care. The initiative, they said, seeks to ensure that every child—regardless of the nature or severity of their developmental challenges—receives the support necessary to develop to their fullest potential.
