Zoom expands developer platform with 15 AI services and broader assistant integrations
New APIs cover voice agents, interpretation and speech summaries, while expanded Model Context Protocol support connects Zoom capabilities with external AI assistants, including Microsoft 365 Copilot.

NEW DELHI: Zoom has expanded its developer platform with 15 new AI services, broader support for connecting external AI assistants and a unified portal for building communications applications.
Announced at Zoomtopia, the additions give developers access to speech, language and voice technologies used in Zoom’s products. The company said the new AI Services APIs and Platform Studio developer portal are now available.
The services include tools for conversational voice agents, near-real-time interpretation, transcription, speech summarisation and customised structured outputs.
Voice Agent APIs combine speech recognition, large language model reasoning and speech synthesis in a managed pipeline. Developers can use an integrated model or connect their own language model to Zoom’s speech-to-text and text-to-speech technology.
An Interpreter API combines transcription, translation and speech synthesis for speech-to-speech interpretation. Speech Summarization APIs convert audio into structured summaries and insights that developers can tailor to specific workflows.
Zoom has also expanded its Scribe transcription capabilities with automatic language detection, text polishing, synchronised captions and additional high-accuracy models for batch and live transcription.
A new Decisions API evaluates text, images and other inputs against predefined criteria and returns structured results. Potential uses include classifying information, routing customer requests and flagging content for review.
The company is also extending support for Model Context Protocol, which enables compatible AI applications and agents to access information and supported actions across connected systems.
Zoom said Microsoft 365 Copilot now joins its existing integrations with Anthropic Claude, OpenAI Codex and Meta Muse. Google Gemini support is planned.
MCP support has expanded beyond meetings to Zoom Rooms and Workspace Reservation. Additional servers are planned for Zoom Phone, Scheduler, Mail, Calendar and Marketplace Build. These planned additions are separate from the capabilities already available.
Developers can also use Zoom’s Search and Ask APIs to retrieve information from indexed sources through its unified context layer, bringing relevant material into their own applications and compatible agents.
Platform Studio brings Zoom AI Services, Video SDK and Co-Browse SDK into a single developer portal.
Brendan Ittelson, Zoom’s chief ecosystem officer, said businesses would use multiple AI assistants and models, making interoperability across applications an important part of the company’s platform strategy.
