MUMBAI: Al-Futtaim has partnered with global payments technology company Juspay to introduce enterprise-wide payment orchestration across its brands and markets, as part of the Group’s digital commerce transformation.

The rollout will begin in September 2026, with the first Al-Futtaim brand scheduled to go live during the month. The partnership will provide a unified payment platform across the Group’s businesses while allowing individual brands to retain their own checkout identity and local payment experience.

Unified payment infrastructure

Juspay’s platform will support payment operations across Al-Futtaim’s 50 brands and 12 markets, with a multi-hierarchical architecture combining central controls, country-level configurations and individual brand settings.

The platform will support fraud management, adaptive 3D Secure workflows, local payment methods, network tokenisation, as well as consolidated analytics and reconciliation.

Juspay will also integrate its Breeze commerce stack, a checkout layer designed to support digital-first consumer brands in areas including scale, conversion and customer retention.

The architecture is intended to enable Al-Futtaim’s central team to maintain unified visibility and control across its payment ecosystem while individual businesses retain flexibility over their customer-facing payment experiences.

Focus on customer experience

The partnership is aimed at creating a more consistent and streamlined checkout experience across Al-Futtaim’s brands, while supporting local payment methods and strengthening payment security.

Omar Haddad, CEO, Al-Futtaim Finance, said payments form an important part of the overall customer experience and that the partnership with Juspay would support greater choice, convenience and security as the Group expands its digital capabilities.

Nakul Kothari, Head of APAC & Middle East at Juspay, said the company’s orchestration platform is designed to support enterprises managing multiple brands, markets and payment service providers through a unified system.

Paul Carey, EVP, Cards, Payments & Fintech at Al-Futtaim, said the payment orchestration platform would create a scalable and resilient foundation for the Group’s digital transformation. He also described payment orchestration as an enabler for the emerging era of agentic commerce, where AI-driven interactions could increasingly influence how customers discover, purchase and pay.

Platform targets global payment scale

According to Juspay, its payment stack processes more than 350 million transactions a day, with annualised Total Payment Volume exceeding $1 trillion and reported uptime of 99.999%.

The company has a presence across Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, Latin America, Europe, the UK and North America. Al-Futtaim said this global footprint would provide flexibility to build localised payment experiences across its markets.

The partnership is also expected to provide a foundation for future agentic commerce capabilities, including payment experiences in which AI agents can initiate and complete transactions on behalf of customers.
